I have the opportunity to treat several patients with migraines. The pain has to be located to the temporal and frontal area (the theory is that the pain located in this area is related to a spasm or collapse of the temporal artery, so an injection of a medication that paralyzes the muscle will relive the spasm). Most of the patients whom I’ve had the opportunity to inject Botox, have had great results.
They normally get the result in 3 to 5 days and it last up to 6 months. They are sure to come back for more treatment onces the effect wears off. Usually it is a simple injection right next to the temporal arterial. I have never seen any side effects.
